Eye care, as it should be
Welcome to the Evergreen Eye Care - Grand Haven family.

In a world quickly moving to corporate health care, we believe that independent, customized eye care is evergreen. We promise to treat every patient as a member of our family, as eye care should be.

Meet Our Doctor
David Felger, O.D. grew up in the small town of Iron River, Michigan in the very western part of the upper peninsula.

He was a U.P. state champion wrestler, and went on to be a Varsity letterwinner at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, graduating in 2005.

David decided to become an Optometrist because his eye doctor growing up had a big impact on his life. He graduated from the Michigan College of Optometry in 2009, and then completed an additional Ocular Disease residency at the V.A. Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He has over 15 years of experience in eye care.

"Dr. Dave" is passionate about comprehensive care, prevention and management of eye disease, glasses and contacts (including specialty contacts), and providing personalized care.

Dr. Dave and his wife Brooke met in his last year of Optometry school, and have been married since 2013. They have two boys, ages 8 and 10, and a chocolate lab named Billie. (You can often hear her "woofing" from the back office.

Meet the Team

Medical Office Specialist
Welcome Emily! She is the newest member of the Evergreen Eye Care Team, joining us in the summer of 2025. She is a proud mom whose journey into eye care began in a very personal way - through her child.

"When my son faced vision challenges through a rare disease, I quickly realized how life-changing proper eye care can be. What started as a personal mission turned into a professional passion. Today, I'm dedicated to helping families understand and protect their vision. I believe that seeing the world clearly is a gift - and one worth fighting for."

When Emily is not working, she loves to play video games, Magic the Gathering, and go to karaoke in her spare time.

Optician and Frame Stylist
Meet Jennifer! She brings a combined seven years of eye care experience to Evergreen Eye Care, in both the corporate and independent settings.

"I believe the eyes are the window to the soul, and vice versa. I have a very high prescription, and know how it feels to not be able to see, which is why I'm passionate about helping people see their best."

Jennifer was born in Chicago, and moved to Muskegon in 2004. She has two children, ages 15 and 9. She loves all things Harry Potter, elephants (riding one is on her bucket list) and does pedicures in her spare time.

Office Administrator
Brooke brings support to Evergreen Eye Care as both Dr. Felger's wife and an experienced eye care administrator. Brooke got her second degree in Health Care Administration and spent five years in the Ophthalmology field before moving to business consulting..

"Starting a patient-centered practice that pushed against the factory farm-corporate business model has always been our goal.
I'm so thrilled to be able to run a practice that is built on fixing the mistakes I've seen clinics make in the past. Your eyesight is one of your most precious, and often unappreciated gifts."

Brooke was born in South Korea, and loves Korean food. She loves spending time with her family and friends, coffee, journaling, biking and walking Billie.
